Bardya worked as the CEO at Virtual Brokers and BBS Securities before he founded SITTU Group. There, he was responsible to deal with regulators. The Globe and Mail ranked SITTU Group as the #1 brokerage.

Bardya’s career began in the early 1990s. He has worked across a variety of industries, including financial systems, technology, capital and brokerage services. Super Dicks, his comedy mystery film, is in production. He is also the producer and writer.

Bardya, a York University graduate, received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in mathematics in June 1995. After that, he earned a Master of Arts degree with the same subject, in 1997.

The origins of the SITTU Group idea?

SITTU can be translated as “Think and Move Forward”. After the sale of BBS, Virtual Brokers and their sister companies, my goal became to select bright individuals to make the most of the current macroenvironment. This is how SITTU was created. We have the luxury time, so we can make the most out of the macro environment.

What’s your typical day like? And how can you make it more productive.

Each day is unique. It’s a frequent traveler who means that I’m constantly working on different projects. I don’t actually have a daily routine. I do work hard, and try to be as healthy as possible.

How do you bring your ideas to fruition?

I bring ideas to life through hard work and by surrounding myself by intelligent, knowledgeable people. I surround my self with those who are smarter than me, and I believe that every entrepreneur should.

Is there a trend that excites you?

All areas that interest me are robotics and space exploration, as well as AI. While we don’t actually work in these spaces, I am extremely interested in technology and its latest developments.

What’s one habit that you have that makes you more successful as an entrepreneur

Perseverance. It is the key to success both in entrepreneurship and life. You must always have the desire to succeed and the determination to do so.

What advice would a younger you give?

If I could give advice to my younger self, it would say to eat more healthily and exercise more. Healthy living should be a priority from a young age. These are habits that you can form early on and can be carried with you throughout your entire life.

What one thing do you do every day as an entrepreneur that you would recommend to everyone else?

Work hard. I guarantee that hard work will eventually be noticed. When it does, you’ll be recognized and, hopefully, reap the rewards.

What’s one strategy that you have used to grow your business?

Because I think outside the box, it has helped me grow my businesses. Bardya Ziaian To other entrepreneurs: Take a moment to reflect on your team’s strengths, weaknesses, and make improvements. Your strengths should be used to counter the weaknesses of others.

What was the biggest mistake you made as an entrepreneur? How did it help you to overcome it?

Experience. Experience is gained by walking the walk and learning along the way. You need to be open with yourself about your failures.

Do you have a business idea that you are willing to share?

I would like to invent a new fintech platform that streamlines how companies make investments.
